Nutrition

With a full time cook in the centre, we pay constant attention to ensuring that children are provided with a balanced diet. The cook ensures that the meals and snacks we provide each day are appetising, consistent with the Dietary Guidelines for children and adolescents and provide at least 70% of the Recommended Dietary Intake for all nutrients. Good nutrition is particularly important for young children, especially for growth and development. We also provide freshly made purées for our nursery children that are moving onto solids. The children are offered a healthy range of foods each day including…

  • fruit platters
  • pasta bakes
  • stir fries
  • chicken and vegetable casseroles
  • vegetable sticks

Our centre is completely NUT FREE. We are able to cater for all types of allergies and religious beliefs relating to certain foods. Please ensure you let us know any dietary requirements for your child at enrolment. You will receive copies of our menus at enrolment and these are also displayed around the centre & classrooms.

Our classrooms also enjoy cooking with the children throughout the week. We are lucky to have a vegetable and herb garden as well as our own chickens. The children enjoy collecting ingredients from our gardens then using these in the classroom cooking.
